2 Day Combined Basic Firearms and CCH Class ( Private & Group)
This is a 2 day back to back class. The 1st day being the Defensive Handgun Class and the 2nd day will be the Concealed Carry Handgun class.
This combination class will allow you to get the basic handgun training you need to be able to carry safely, and have the knowledge of how to safely and properly handle and fire your carry gun. Plus take your CCH class while all the information is still fresh in your head,
The Defensive Pistol class will consist of:
1 Day Class 8:00 a.m. – approx..4:00p.m.
Class Time starts at 8:00.. (Doors open at 7:45)
In a relaxed and fun environment, this 8 hr course introduces men and women to shooting handguns. This course is designed specifically for people with little or no practical shooting experience, and for those who are comfortable with shooting but want more training and basic firearm handling. You will learn basic firearm knowledge, shooting skills and most importantly the mindset and attitude necessary for owning and using a handgun safely.
Pricing for Combination CCH & Basic Handgun Class
Private 1 on 1 class~~~~ $400.00
Couples ( 2 people)~~~ $550.00
Guns, holsters, mags, mag holders, and speed loaders are provided.
Group of up to 6 people~~~ $350.00 per person
Guns, holsters, mags, mag holders, and speed loaders are included for each person.
Student is responsible for bringing their own electronic shooting earmuffs and eyewear. If you wear glasses. that will be sufficient.
CLASSROOM TIME
Approx. 4 hrs learning and discussing the fundamentals of shooting
- Instruction in firearms and range safety
- Loading and clearing a handgun.
- Handling misfeeds and malfunctions.
- Discussion of the mindset and responsibility of carrying a gun
- Situational Awareness and that of your surroundings.
- Hand to hand self defense maneuvers without a firearm.
Students are provided complete handouts which summarize key points of the class.
RANGE TIME
- Basic Gun handling skills
- 5 plus hours of outdoor live-fire shooting drills with a full sized 9mm firearm.
- Structured and fundamental training sessions for personal defense
- Presentation from ready position.
- Presentation from the holster
- Preforming Tactical and Speed reloads.
- Malfunction clearings
- Shooting on the move
Required equipment:
- The full sized 9mm semi automatic handgun you want to train with, plus an outside hard holster. No cross draw or inside the waist band holsters.
- If you don’t own one, or you don’t want to use your own, I have full sized FNS 9mm’s to use. Included in this will be the holster, extra magazines, mag holders and speed loaders.
- At least 200 rounds of 9mm ball ammo
- *Ammunition for your handgun will be your responsibility.*
- The reason for using full size 9mm’s for training is~~~If you bring a small carry gun with you for training, you may certainly experience hand and arm fatigue at the end of the class due to the number of rounds fired with that caliber.
- Bring your carry gun with you, plus the ammunition for it . We will have time to work with it and shoot it at the end of class.
- After class, you’ll have the opportunity to shoot various calibers of revolvers and semi automatic handguns to get the feel for the various sizes and types of carry and training guns. These will be my personal firearms ..and I will furnish the ammo for these guns
***If using your 9mm*** you will need~~~
- At least 3 spare magazines, and mag holders
- Good quality holster for the handgun that will remain open after the firearm is drawn. Strong side hip Blade-Tech or similar ( hard plastic) holsters are advised outside the waistband.
- No cross draw, inside the waistband or shoulder holsters please.
Standard List of Needed Items

- Sturdy wide belt that will support the holster…and fit the belt loops on your pants.
- 200 rounds of ball ammunition for your training handgun. ( No Reloads)
- Ball cap
- You will need Electronic hearing protection. { please take note.…battery powered electronic ..AS YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO HEAR INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE LINE. }
- A pair of shooting /safety glasses. { If you wear glasses that will be sufficient }
- (((both of these items can be purchased at Walmart or any place that carries this type of merchandise)
Footwear that covers entire foot … no sandals please. Please do not wear tank tops or low-neckline blouses/shirts to class. (Hot brass from a semi-automatic weapon can burn you and is painful. Proper protection is important when firing any weapon.)
- Sturdy pants that have wide belt loops matching your belt width
- Shirts with high collars are recommended or T-shirts ( brass is hot and can badly burn skin) *Match season with clothing. rain gear, jackets etc..*
- Range Bag with whatever gear you need.
- Pack a lunch and snacks. Water will be provided. If you want any other non alcoholic beverage, please bring it.
All instruction materials, range time, and targets will be provided
All graduates receive a completed certificate
The CCH class will consist of:
2nd Day Class 8:00 a.m.
Class Time starts at 8:00 am.. (Doors open at 7:45)
- The Laws in Kansas and use of force laws covering self defense and personal defense applications.
- There will be short videos depicting actual situations and what the Best Defense would entail.
- Discussing Kansas Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground laws and legal issues relating to the “use of force” laws, protecting property and persons
- Firearms Transport rule
- How to interact with law enforcement, during routine stop while carrying a firearm.
- What to do after a self-defense incident.
- How to respond to an aggressive altercation.
- Situational awareness and the “after the fact” trauma and stress of a situation.
- Making your own medical emergency kit.
At the end of the classroom time there will be a 50 question multiple choice/true false written test.
There will be no range qualification time..as you will have qualified in the 1st Days Handgun class.
Things you will need:
- You will need Identification (Kansas Drivers License or ID card)
- Must be 18 years of age and be a resident of Kansas at least 6 months
- Bring a sack lunch, snacks and non alcoholic drinks of your choice. ( we will NOT leave the building for lunch, but will eat while continuing with the class) Coffee and Tea will be provided. We will also take short breaks throughout the day.
